History

Ordinary People Inc. (OPI) was founded in 1998 as a 501(c)(3) Christian ministry dedicated to equipping God’s people for transformative living. For more than twenty-eight (28) years, OPI has advanced its mission by teaching in churches, preaching globally, and inspiring believers to move from the ordinary to the extraordinary in Jesus Christ through the application of biblical principles to everyday life. The ministry has impacted communities through international crusades, citywide prayer breakfasts, teaching seminars, mission initiatives, and media outreach—including the nationally and locally syndicated television program “Moving from Ordinary to the Extraordinary People in Christ Jesus” aired on AIBTV, Angel One, and WATC 57.

In 2018, OPI launched the School of the Prophets (OPISOP) to provide specialised training for apostles and prophets called to effective ministry. What began with three students has now grown into a diverse international community of scholars representing eight African nations, as well as Austria, Thailand, and the United States. The institution is authorised by the Georgia Nonpublic Postsecondary Education Commission and the University System of North Carolina to grant postsecondary religious degrees—establishing a strong academic foundation as OPISOP advances toward full compliance with accreditation standards recognised by the U.S. Department of Education.

OPISOP currently holds accreditation with the Transworld Accrediting Commission International (TACI), a respected non-federally recognised accrediting body that provides rigorous academic and spiritual evaluation for evangelical Christian schools worldwide. TACI accreditation affirms OPISOP’s commitment to excellence while it continues to pursue recognition with a Department of Education–recognised accreditor.

Today, OPISOP’s distinguished faculty—seasoned leaders holding advanced theological and professional degrees—remain committed to preparing students through rigorous apostolic and prophetic training. Our holistic approach integrates spiritual formation, academic excellence, and global engagement, equipping graduates to lead and serve effectively in diverse ministry contexts around the world.

Doctrinal Statement of Faith

Ordinary People Inc. School of the Prophets affirms the historic, orthodox Christian faith as revealed in the Holy Scriptures and centred in the person and work of Jesus Christ. The School of the Prophets subscribes to the theological statement of the Word of God, the Apostle’s Creed, and Christian conservative values and principles. Quarterly, The School expects all members of the faculty and staff to affirm their allegiance to the following foundational beliefs that are a part of the school’s doctrine:

1. The Scriptures

We believe the Bible, comprised of the Old and New TTestaments is the inspired, infallible, and authoritative Word of God, without error in its original manuscripts, and the final authority for faith and life. (2 Timothy 3:16-17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)

2. Trinity

We believe in one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit – coequal, ccoeternal and consubstantial. (Matthew 28:19; John 14:16-17)

3. God the Father

We believe God the Father is the Creator and Sustainer of all things, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power, and love. He is merciful toward all and desires all people to be saved. (Genesis 1:1; Psalm 145:8-9; 1 Timothy 2:3-4)

4. Jesus Christ

We believe in the full deity and full humanity of our Lord Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, sinless life, miracles, substitutionary death on the cross, bodily resurrection, ascension to the right hand of the Father, and His future personal return in power and glory. (John 1:1-14; Colossians 2:9; 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17)

5. The Holy Spirit

We believe the Holy Spirit is fully God and actively works in the world to convict of sin, regenerate believers, empower sanctified living, bestow spiritual gifts, and equip the church for ministry and mission. (Acts 1:8; John 16:13; 1 Corinthians 12:4-11)

6. Humanity and Sin

We believe all people are created in the image of God but are born with a sinful nature and are separated from God by sin. Only through faith in Jesus Christ can individuals be reconciled to God. (Genesis 1:26-27; Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:1-5)

7. Salvation

We believe that salvation is a gift of God’s grace received through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. It is not earned by human effort or work. Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is essential. (Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:5)

8. The Church

We believe the Church is the body of Christ on earth, comprised of all true believers, called to worship, fellowship, disciple, and serve. We affirm the fivefold ministry for the equipping of the saints and the building up of the body of Christ. (Ephesians 4:11-13; 1 Corinthians 12:12-27)

9. The Kingdom of God

We believe the Kingdom of God is both a present reality and a future hope. We are called to advance God’s Kingdom on earth through the proclamation of the Gospel, acts of justice and mercy, and the transformation of society through Christ-centred leadership. (Matthew 6:10; Luke 4:18-19)

10. The Return of Christ and Eternity

We believe in the blessed hope—the personal and visible return of Jesus Christ. We believe in the bodily resurrection of both the saved and the lost, the saved unto eternal life and the lost unto eternal separation from God. (John 5:28-29; Revelation 20:11-15)

11. Marriage, Gender, and Sexuality

We believe that marriage is a holy covenant instituted by God, joining one man and one woman in a lifelong union. We affirm that gender is assigned by God and is immutable. Sexual intimacy is reserved for marriage. (Genesis 2:24; Matthew 19:4-6; Hebrews 13:4)

12. The Role of the Holy Spirit in the Believer’s Life

We believe that every believer is indwelt, sealed, and empowered by the Holy Spirit at the moment of salvation, and that the baptism of the Holy Spirit is an ongoing experience for empowerment and the exercise of spiritual gifts. (Acts 2:1-4; Galatians 5:22-23)

13. Biblical Authority and Cultural Engagement

We believe that Scripture is the supreme standard by which all human conduct, creeds, and religious opinions should be judged. As such, we are committed to engaging culture through a biblical worldview and prophetic witness. (Romans 12:2; Colossians 2:8)

The above Statement of Faith serves as the doctrinal foundation for all instruction, leadership, and governance at Ordinary People Inc. School of the Prophets (OPISOP). Furthermore, the Faith Statement is published in the Catalogue, Faculty Handbook, Student Handbook, and on the institution’s website. All board members, faculty, and staff are expected to affirm and uphold these beliefs without reservation.
