UK halts student visa issuance for four countries.

The British government will end education visas to nationals from Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar and Sudan.
Britain has announced that it will stop issuing student visas to people from Afghanistan, Cameroon, Myanmar and Sudan.
It will also stop issuing student work visas to people from Afghanistan.
“An ’emergency brake’ on visas has been imposed for the first time on nationals from four countries following a surge in asylum claims from legal routes,” the UK Home Office said in a statement.
The Home Office said the move was an attempt to clamp down on asylum seekers who enter Britain through legal routes.
The number of asylum applications by students from these four nations had “rocketed” by more than 470% between 2021 and 2025, it said.
This is a breaking story. We will update it shortly.
